PURPOSE AND PILLARS
JCGA is committed to strengthening the business environment and supporting and promoting new and existing growth throughout Jefferson County.
The leadership and membership of the Jefferson County Growth Association (JCGA) have strong ties throughout our communities, bringing businesses and people together to advance economic growth and encourage and retain businesses through the organization’s four main pillars:
Tourism & Events, Commerce, Legislative Programs, and Industry & Business
TOURISM & EVENTS
JCGA understands the major role visitor spending and tourism play in the health of our economy. To support these efforts the JCGA has created a calendar of events that highlight activities and locations perfect for tourist to explore Jefferson County. The JCGA has also created large-scale events to generate more tourist interest such as the Bottleneck Bridge Bike Ride. (Check out the 2017 Bottleneck Bridge Bike Ride)
The more we promote the events, locations and parks conveniently located 20-30 minutes away from St. Louis, the more our economy benefits from visitors throughout the year.
We invite you to take advantage of the many great options for all ages to visit, shop, eat, stay and play.
Check out upcoming festivals and include some Jefferson County fun when you plan your next trip to the St. Louis area.
Shop Jefferson County, Hire Jefferson County
JCGA understands the myriad of benefits shopping locally offers a region. Beyond tax dollars, staying locally strengthens communities by supporting police, fire, ambulance, library, schools, roads and bridges and other tax-funded programs. It provides and sustains local job creation as well; thus, keeping more funds in and strengthening our region.
JCGA created the ‘Shop Jefferson County’ campaign to promote shopping local businesses. This campaign educates the public about the benefits of shopping locally to grow and enrich the community and demonstrates how sales tax dollars support our region.
JCGA is expanding the campaign to include ‘Hire Jefferson County,’ to support and encourage individuals, businesses and organizations to hire local service providers. Hiring local helps recycle and keep more dollars in our communities, and helps secure jobs for those who choose to make their home here.
Economic returns, job creation, unique
JCGA provides opportunities for hearing from and interacting with legislators representing Jefferson County during our annual State of the County address and breakfast, Legislative Visits to the State Capitol, Legislative Forum, Meet the Candidates Forum during election years, Holiday Party and end of session breakfast.
